The Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department gives several awards each year to recognize both its members and supporters. The awards program was initiated in 2001 to recognize those individuals and or organizations that have provided the organization with outstanding leadership, service, support and participation. These awards are given out each January at the annual Holiday Party. Each award is named for a past member who played a major role in the History of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department. The Elmer Hecht Award Mr. Elmer Hecht became Chief of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department December 28, 1960, a post he held until his retirement in 1994. In 1968 he became the Bartlett Fire Protection District’s first fulltime Fire Marshall. He remained an active member of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department until his death in 2002. The Elmer Hecht Award is awarded to a member of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. for outstanding leadership. This award is the highest honor that the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. can bestow upon one of its members. 2002 Michael Dexter 2003 Brian P. The AC Schick Award awarded to an organization or person who is not a member but has shown outstanding support of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.

He served many terms as a Director of the organization and was always ready to lend a hand. Jimmy served this community as a volunteer firefighter until his untimely death in January of 1998. The Jimmy Jensen Award awarded to a member of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department for outstanding participation and contributions to the organization. 2002 Rick Nelson The William E. Bull Award Mr. William E. Bull served the Bartlett community 52 years as a member of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department from 1897 to 1949. He served 18 years of those as Chief of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department. The William E. Bull Awarded by the Board of Directors of the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. to an individual for outstanding achievements and service to the Bartlett Volunteer Fire Department, Inc.
